In this article, I’m going to talk about what is SEO or what is Search Engine Optimization? I think you might know about it but if you are new to the SEO then you should stick with this article until the end. I’m sure after this article you have an idea about basic SEO. So, let’s without further due let’s dive directly into it.
What is SEO?
SEO stands for search engine optimization, it is a process or practice for getting free or organic traffic on your website. From this, you can assume the importance of SEO for every website. Because it’s a free traffic you don’t have to pay any charges to get this traffic. But for this, you have to follow some guidelines or you can say rules of the search engine to better optimize your website according to the search engine.
You should consider all search engines that people are using for web surfing. You can’t just ignore any one. But some very popular search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo etc. have their own webmasters’ guidelines to index any web page into the search engine. In a simple way, I have an article about 16 way to grow your email list for email marketing and I posted on my blog than Google, Bing or Yahoo etc. doesn’t directly index your article. You have to optimize it according to guidelines of Google Webmasters for Google, Bing Webmasters for Bing and so on.
There are different guidelines for different search engines. You should subscribe email newsletter from Google Webmaster Central Blog, to get fully updated with the latest algorithm changes.
If you are running a blog and you published some articles on it. Now search for any keywords of it on Google, if you find your website then your article is properly optimized and if not then you should concentrate on SEO and keyword research. Because it may be possible that you are targeting wrong keywords for that article.
So, SEO is very important for any businesses or bloggers to get more organic traffic and better index in search engine.
Different Types of SEO
There are 2 types of SEO. On Page Optimization & Off Page Optimization. Both are very important to get better ranking in SERP (Search Engine Result Page).
Meta tags creation, content optimization, interlinking your pages, sitemap creation etc. these all activities counted in On-Page SEO. And to be honest, this is the simplest portion of SEO. It’s the toughest portion of SEO & I think you might not know about this but it is very helpful to get better ranking. So, you shouldn’t have ignored this. Weight Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO are including in Off Page SEO. I know, I’m writing many new terms but don’t worry, I’ll give you explanation of all the given terms.
