Razer Blade: The Pinnacle of Portable Gaming
The top surface is shiny black anodized aluminum with Razer watermark. The material is different from last year model. It is rough and smooth finished & a super thin laptop. The bottom surface is also aluminum.
It is 0.7-inch thick and 4.25 pounds with aluminum chassis with 14-inch XO Touchscreen IPS display and 3200*1800 display resolution same as last year. The viewing angle is good and the display is pretty bright. It is a glossy display so you can’t use it outdoor. The minimum brightness is not such minimum! The screen is awesome. Construction is super solid and no flex. The hinges are tight and perfectly tuned. It is one handed one.
There are 3 USB 3 type ports, audio jack, HDMI port, Thunderbolt 3 port, and AC adapter. There is no SD card slot. You can connect external GPU/Razer Core.
The webcam is good which is 2MP and quality is pretty good. The side bezels are good but top bezels are wide.
The Chroma keyboard is good. It is rigid and the material is also good. Key spacing is perfect and it is good for trying. The built quality is awesome. You can change backlight color with software and make more responsive. It also has anti-ghosting feature for maximum spam. It’s really awesome!
There is glass trackpad, which is excellent. Control is good. The buttons are same as the last year. I don’t like buttons very much. It is small and you can’t click on anywhere instead of buttons. The clicking sound is not good.
The speakers are either side of the keyboard. It is loud, the sound is clear and the bass is good.

P.M 951 by Samsung, which is smaller in size and 256GB. I don’t like this drive because It has good read speed but writes speed is not so good and at this price, you will get best drives with super speed. But it is upgradable so you can upgrade it or change it. It has 16GB RAM is soldered. The cooling fans are good. It is completely replaced with last year model.
This year model fans and heat pipes have been redesigned It provides better cooling compared to the previous generation. But if you are playing high-end games then it gets hot!
It has a 70WH battery. Normal use you will 4-5 hours of battery life and for gaming, it’s around 1-2 hours. The battery performance is good. Overall performance is also good.
This is New Razer Blade 2016 priced at $2000. Best built quality, 14-inch touchscreen display, which is bright, but bezels are big, the speakers are good and sound is clear and distortion free, the keyboard is good and it has Chroma lighting which is super cool. The trackpad is good but buttons are not so good.
This model has, 2.6GHz quad-core Intel i7 6700HQ provides the best performance, GTX 970M with 6GB graphics gives excellent gaming experience, 16GB DDR4 RAM which is more than enough for gaming but not upgradable, 256GB SSD which is slower but upgradable and last 70WH battery which gives around 4-5 hours of battery life for normal usage.
In my opinion, It is a better upgrade and cheap ($400) compare to last year model. I really enjoy this laptop and If you are looking for a gaming laptop in this budget then you should try this one. It is best for gaming and the best thing is it crashes almost all games! I really love The New Razer Blade 2016.
